Captain Price could have been Scouse, Quantic Dream leaks details about its own game, and Oscar Isaac wants Metal Gear fans to get more excited.
Sundays are all about rest, relaxation, and of course a healthy or perhaps even unhealthy dose of gaming. Since you’ve probably been hard at work playing the latest release, I’m going to assume that you’ve gotten behind on everything that’s been going on in the wider world of gaming, so let’s get you back up to speed. Today, we heard about how the Captain Price voice actor wanted him to be Scouse in the Modern Warfare reboot, Quantic Dream leaked the plot of its own game to gauge interest, and Oscar Isaac wants Metal Gear Solid fans to get excited about the upcoming movie despite having no progress to show. As usual, there’s more where this came from, so read on for the rest.
Captain Price Actor Wanted Him To Be Scouse In Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Reboot
The person who plays Captain Price in the Modern Warfare reboot apparently wanted the character to be Scouse. Billy Murray was the voice actor in the original series, but in the reboot, Price is played by Barry Sloane. “In the auditions, I played him Scouse and I was really pushing it because we don’t have enough Scouse superheroes in my opinion,” Sloane said. “But we decided to not go down that road, and to go somewhere around where Billy did it. Billy’s a little more clipped, a little more in the system – mine’s a little more working class, I think. I went from that perspective and put some of it in but then added aspects of myself, and I was afforded that by Infinity Ward.”
Laura Bailey Would “Definitely” Be Up For Returning To Play Abby In The Last Of Us Part 3
The voice actor behind Abby, Laura Bailey, said they would “definitely” be up to reprise the role in The Last of Us Part 3. Bailey explained that “I would definitely go back to her. I know there was a lot of drama and response to her character, but it was one of the most influential roles I’ve had in my life. I would one hundred percent go back to play more Abby if the opportunity came up.” Here’s hoping.
Silent Hill 2’s Translator Says Konami Will Give Him “Zero Compensation” For Using His Script In The Remake
The translator who took on Silent Hill 2 recently said that developer Konami will be giving him “zero compensation” despite using his script for the upcoming remake. The person in question, Jeremy Blaustein, took to Twitter, saying “they will, once again, use the Silent Hill 2 English script that I wrote/ translated (oh, directed, too) completely by myself and I will get zero compensation for it and there will not be tens of thousands of people on Twitter outraged on my behalf. Maybe I should make a video?” Credit really should be given where credit is due, at least in my opinion.
Oscar Isaac really wants fans of the franchise to be excited for the Metal Gear Solid movie. The trick is that Isaac has absolutely no progress to show, something which has been striking many people as rather strange given the circumstances. “We want it to happen,” Isaac said during an interview. “Be excited. What’s the script? What’s the story? What’s the take? But hopeful that comes to fruition because there’s so much potential for that. It’s an incredible game. It’s my favorite.” Well. That’s definitely exciting.
Star Wars Eclipse Plot Details Were Reportedly Leaked By Quantic Dream To Gauge Interest
The news broke a while back that Star Wars Eclipse would be all about political conflict, featuring a human-like alien protagonist called Sarah. Well, this appears to have been a plant. The company behind the game, Quantic Dream, seems to have leaked this information on purpose in order to drum up interest. The studio by all appearances wanted to see how the community would respond, hoping to help out some ongoing recruitment efforts at the same time. Probably could have been a bit more careful with the implementation of this particular plan, though.
