Destiny 2’s annual Dawning event is currently live, allowing Guardians to bake delicious treats for their favorite NPC vendors in exchange for festive-themed weapons and cosmetics. This year’s Dawning came with a few new surprises, one of which being a new title. The Star Baker title is available to those who are dedicated to baking treats and killing enemies with snowballs.
As far as titles go, Star Baker is quite easy to obtain. Besides the snowball and Dawning Spirit Triumphs, this title is easy to obtain and doesn’t have many niche Triumph objectives. This guide will show every Triumph tied to the Star Baker title and how best to complete them, providing tips and tricks that should make this title much easier to earn.
Dawn Of The Dawning
Dawn of the Dawning: Complete the Dawning introduction quests, “Bake a Cookie” and “Give a Gift to Zavala.”
Upon logging in, you’ll be greeted by Eva Levante the first time you visit the Tower. Collect Eva’s Holiday Oven from her, bake a set of Gjallardoodles, then deliver the gift to Commander Zavala to finish this Triumph. You should have this done already if you’ve been playing since the Dawning began.
[Amateur, Adept, Expert] Baker: Bake 6/13/20 types of cookies in the Dawning Oven.
This title has three baking Triumphs for you to complete, requiring you to bake every type of holiday treat in Eva’s Oven. You’ll need a large stockpile of ingredients and Dawning Essence to make all of these cookies, so we recommend you focus on other Triumphs first before attempting this one. As for the recipes themselves, check out our Dawning 2022 guide for a full list of all cookie recipes.
As for farming the resources required for this Triumph, we recommend completing Eva bounties and farming Vanguard Ops or Heist Battlegrounds. Focus on completing activities, and you should have a large supply of Dawning Essence in no time.
Shopping Spree: Purchase all 12 Dawning upgrades from Eva with Dawning Spirit.
You’ll need a total of 380 Dawning Spirit to purchase all 12 upgrades from Eva Levante. You can acquire Dawning Spirit by completing bounties from Eva and triumphs tied to the Star Baker title. Assuming you completed every bounty from Eva on all three of your characters, you’re looking at earning 24 Dawning Spirit per day (dailies only) and 60 from weeklies alone. Repeatable bounties grant a single Dawning Spirit each, so constantly stock up on bounties as you chase this title.
If you’ve played this event in previous years, be sure to equip the Starfarer 7M ship, found in the collections tab under Season 12. This ship has an Exotic perk that grants a chance of earning Dawning Spirit whenever you earn Dawning ingredients. Ingredients are absurdly common during this event, so this ship saves you many hours of bounty grinding.
Snowball Ops: Defeat combatants with snowballs in the Vanguard Ops playlist.
You must defeat 100 combatants with snowballs while in the Vanguard Ops playlist to finish this Triumph. Keep your eyes peeled for snowball piles in each strike. Lower the enemy’s HP, grab a snowball, aim directly at the target, and repeat. This might take a few runs to complete, especially if you’re matchmaking with other players. We recommend getting a fireteam of like-minded players together to make things a little easier. The snowball must land the killing blow to count.
Snowball Dares: Defeat combatants with snowballs in the Dares of Eternity.
Similar to the last Triumph, you’ll need to defeat 100 enemies with snowballs in the Dares of Eternity playlist. You’ll find a pile of snowballs in the first encounter. Lower the HP of your enemies, grab a snowball, then finish them off with a well-aimed throw. If you don’t want to matchmake with other players, consider booting up the Legend variant. Just beware that Legend Dares of Eternity has Match Game enabled.
Thundersnow: Defeat combatants or Guardians with Arc weapons or abilities.
Equip an Arc subclass, your favorite Arc weapon, and play any Destiny 2 content you enjoy. It’s as simple as that. We recommend equipping Legendary weapons with Voltshot or the Trinity Ghoul Exotic to easily land PvE kills. As for activities, we recommend farming Heist Battlegrounds, Altars of Sorrow on the Moon, or the opening encounter in the Grasp of Avarice dungeon.
Deep Freeze: Defeat combatants or Guardians with Stasis weapons or abilities.
Stasis weapons are your best bet here. Ager’s Scepter is a fantastic option for clearing out hordes of enemies. If you don’t want to use an Exotic, consider farming for the Prolonged Engagement SMG from Vanguard Ops, a Veist SMG that deals Stasis damage.
Snowmelt: Defeat combatants or Guardians with Solar weapons or abilities.
All Solar subclasses have absurdly powerful abilities you can use. Hunters can use Caliban’s Hand to easily trigger Ignites in ritual content. Warlocks can use Incinerating Snap with Sunbracers to throw infinite grenades. As for Titans, consider speccing around the Consecration Aspect or the Ashen Wake Exotic. Throwing Hammer with Synthoceps is a good option as well.
They Call It sNOw
They Call it sNOw: Defeat combatants or Guardians with Void weapons or abilities.
Void has some powerful weapons and abilities for PvE content. We recommend using Funnelweb, Graviton Lance, Wavesplitter, or your favorite Void Legendary to get this done quickly. Consider using the Echo of Instability Fragment to give your Void weapons Volatile Rounds, drastically improving your DPS against tougher foes.
Vanguard Eternity: Complete Vanguard Ops or Dares of Eternity activities.
You’ll need to complete six Vanguard Ops or Dares of Eternity games to finish this Triumph. Focus on getting snowball kills for the “Snowball Ops” and “Snowball Dares” Triumphs before worrying about this one. You should have more than enough clears by the time you get the snowball Triumphs completed. If not, run a few Vanguard Ops to finish the Triumph.
Competitive Spirit: Complete Crucible or Gambit matches.
Complete ten PvP or Gambit matches to finish this Triumph. We find Crucible matches go slightly faster than Gambit games but pick your favorite. Rotating PvP playlists like Mayhem and Team Scorched are absurdly fast and a solid source of Dawning Essence, something you’ll need to bake all treats for some of this title’s Triumphs. If you prefer playing Gambit, we highly recommend getting a fireteam together to make your games a little easier.
Nightmare Seraph Before Dawning
Nightmare Seraph Before Dawning: Complete Nightmare Containments or Heist Battlegrounds.
Six Heist Battlegrounds or Nightmare Containments are required to finish this Triumph. Heist Battlegrounds are the current seasonal activity and have some fantastic seasonal weapons, so we recommend you farm that playlist. Nightmare Containment is a little slower and gets quite repetitive. Once again, farm whichever playlist you enjoy more.
With Light Comes Dawn-ing
With Light Comes Dawn-ing: Complete activities in Savathun’s Throne World.
Completing any content on Savathun’s Throne World will grant progress for this Triumph. We recommend farming Lost Sectors to get this done quickly. The Wellspring activity is also worth farming if you don’t have all weapon patterns from that activity.
Bake-stravaganza: Bake cookies in the Dawning Oven.
You’ll need to bake 50 treats to finish this Triumph. Seeing as you need to bake 20 cookies to complete “Expert Baker” and its associated Triumphs, this shouldn’t take too much effort. We recommend waiting until you Masterwork Eva’s Oven before attempting this to reduce the Dawning Essence cost of baking each treat.
If you’re short on materials, we recommend farming Altars of Sorrow on the Moon. You’ll fight hundreds of Hive enemies in each run, making it quite easy to stock up on Chitin Powder and elemental ingredients.
