The upcoming Spotlight Hour will take place on November 15, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. This is a relatively short window of time, so make sure that you are prepared and logging in punctually to take advantage of the bonuses being offered.

This week’s Spotlight Hour will be showcasing Porygon, the “Virtual Pokemon”.

This Pokemon can be evolved into Porygon2 using 25 Porygon Candy and the Upgrade item, then into its final evolution, Porygon-Z using 100 Porygon Candy and a Sinnoh Stone. Make sure that you are logging in to take advantage of this Pokemon’s increased spawn rate to ensure that you obtain enough Candy to perform these two evolutions.

This is especially important due to the extremely low spawn rate of Porygon in Pokemon Go, making Porygon Candy rare and hard to come across. Additionally, due to the quantity of Porygon encounters available to you during this event window, this proves to be a great opportunity to catch a Porygon with desirable in-game stats.

*Spotlight Hour Bonuses

Each Spotlight Hour will be accompanied by a specific bonus throughout its duration.

In the case of this Spotlight Hour, you will receive two times Candy for catching Pokemon. This is a great opportunity to earn tons of Porygon Candy quickly, again, proving to be an extremely valuable resource due to how rare this Pokemon is in the game.

*Spotlight Hour Spawn Rates And Shiny Rates

As the main bonus of a Spotlight Hour, you can expect a large increase in Porygon’s spawn rate during this one-hour window. You can further increase this Pokemon’s spawn rate through the use of Incense or PokeStop Lures.

There will be a chance of encountering this Pokemon’s Shiny variation during its Spotlight Hour, so the use of these items will further the probability of you encountering this rare variant.

Similar to Community Day Events, the increased spawn rate of this Pokemon will give you decent odds of finding and catching a Shiny Porygon, so make sure that you prepare accordingly when it comes to your items and specific location.

*How To Prepare For Spotlight Hours

Being such a short window of time, it’s important to make sure that you are prepared for this event prior to its commencement. With the massive increase in the featured Pokemon’s spawn rate, make sure you are stocked up on Poke Balls.

You will also want to ensure that you have sufficient Pokemon Storage before this event begins. This will allow you to rapidly catch the featured Pokemon without having to worry about transferring others to make space. You can also increase your Pokemon Storage by 50 by purchasing a Pokemon Storage Upgrade at the in-game shop for 200 PokeCoins.
